Michelle Tep, MSW
Associate Marriage and Family Therapist
My name is Michelle Tep, and I am an Associate Clinical Counselor with Clay
Counseling Solutions. I earned my Master’s in Social Work from California State University, Long Beach, and my Bachelor’s in Sociology with an emphasis in Social Work from California State University, San Bernardino.
I have experience working with children as young as five, as well as with adults in psychiatric settings. I’ve worked in elementary schools providing daily check-ins and group therapy for students who are facing social and emotional challenges. Supporting children through these important developmental stages is something I truly value—it’s rewarding to help them build confidence, resilience, and healthy coping skills that will serve them throughout life.
In my therapeutic work, I draw from evidence-based models such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Solution-Focused Therapy, and the Strengths Perspective. I like to blend these approaches to meet each person’s unique needs and to address issues such as mental illness, emotional distress, and social difficulties. My goal is to create a safe and supportive space where clients feel heard, understood, and empowered. I believe in helping individuals recognize their own strengths and inner resources so they can overcome challenges and move toward personal growth and healing.
